After a day's rest we decided it was time to head to locks 16 & 17.  After all the rain of the past few days I am on log watching duty.   It is incredible to see the size and amount of logs that are floating down the river.  Also tried out the GoPro for the first time today.  The videos are a bit lengthy and I suggest watching them in fast forward.  It will give you a good idea of the experience of going through the locks.

Longer day than expected today as lock 17 is not working.  Seems a critter chewed through some wires and the doors to the lock are not functioning.  In the end we went through the lock with 5+ boats, the most of this trip thus far.  Passed by our expected stop today and moved on to Ilion.  Here we stayed at Ilion marina and R.V. Park.  It was a good choice having all of the amenities one would need and the home of the Remington Gun Museum (15 minute walk from the marina).   It was curious to find that right outside the gates to the Remington factory was a liquor store!  Seems like a bad mix, but Dan was happy to find some of his favorites there.
