We left early today, 7 a.m., as we will have about 6 hours of travel today. We are getting into the routine of leaving early, giving us the afternoons free for relaxation and exploration of our next port. Heading to Trent Port Marina, through the Bay of Quinte. Another beautiful weather day, sunny, warm, and calm seas.
Several "Loopers" arrived yesterday at the marina and we took some time to visit Cavalier for docktails where we met several new loopers to exchange stories of their travels and plans for the Trent Severn and Northern Channel.
We stayed at the marina for two days, enjoying the posh facilities that the marina offers. Spending our time here preparing for the Trent Severn Waterway. There are 44 locks in the waterway and from our readings and discussions with other boaters it should take about 10+ days to travel the 240 miles. The waterway begins at the Bay of Quinte and ends in Port Severn where the Severn River flows into Georgian Bay. Our plan is to take our time going through the locks and spend about a week or so in Georgian Bay. Looking forward to finally putting my toes in the sand and taking a swim, although the water is as cold and toe numbing as Maine!
