We finally started our journey on the Trent Severn Waterway. I am a bit apprehensive as the locks are much smaller than on the Eerie. Our day started by rafting up to "PARD" so that "Katie B" - our newly made friends on a 47' Great Harbor- could fit in the locks with us today. Initially concerned about rafting up, we soon found it a much easier way of locking through. No holding on to our lines or fighting the currents in the locks. We simply tossed our lines to the crew on "PARD" and enjoyed the ride up!
Today was less physically demanding overall but the heat and humidity took its toll by ~ 2 p.m. Our initial plan was to lock thru to Campbellford, but decided on a short day and tied up to a free wall in Glen Ross-7 total l0cks and 13 miles traveled. There was a small store within walking distance and not much else. We had an early dinner of lamb shish kebob and spent the evening watching a group of teens jump off a nearby bridge.

Here's a brief video of lock # 7. The locks here appear to be well maintained and the staff could not be more friendly and helpful.
Our trip today.
