Although we initially thought we would remain in Campbellford for a few nights, we decided to move on to Hastings as there are 11+ "loopers" heading here today. It can get quite hectic trying to lock through with so many boats, and the weather looks to be taking a turn for the worse tonight and tomorrow. Today temps were in the low 80's, sunny and quite humid, with the threat of thunderstorms, as one would expect during the summer months.
Started our day with lock "Lucky 13". Eventually we locked through 6 locks today with "Sanctuary" a 34' American Tug. Wayne, the captain, is from Texas and is completing this trip solo-a brave soul. We have met up with him from time to time and he and Dan enjoy ribbing each other regarding the attributes of their respective boats.
Ended our day today ~ 2 p.m., stopping on the upper wall of lock 18 at Hastings. Although there is no electricity or water on the wall it was very close to the downtown area. We arrived just in time as the wind kicked up and tornado and thunderstorm warnings were in effect. We will stay the night and plan on leaving early tomorrow to Peterborough Marina, weather permitting.

Our trip today.
