Today we began our day early with a “brief” walking tour of Jerusalem (we did # 3, supposedly). What was to be a 3 hour tour providing us with an overview of the city became an all day affair! I couldn't stop hearing the Gilligan Island song all day!! For those of you who don't know this song click the link.
Following over 23000 steps and 95+ degrees heat we had the pleasure of seeing all of the sights of this beautiful holy city including the western wall, church of the holy sepulchre, the Jewish, Christain & Muslim quarters as well as some of the stations of the cross. We had a great guide today -Sharif- who was very knowledgeable and friendly. We ended the day at one of Orly's favorite restaurants here in Jerusalem.
That evening Adam stayed for a bit in the old city and took us on a leisurely walk through the marketplace here in Jerusalem and out to dinner because eating our way through Israel is definitely part of the overall plan.
