Headed out late morning for Byng Inlet.  We traveled ~ 1 hour to Pointe au Baril.  Tried to head out into open water where we were met with 4’, 5’, 6’ seas?  Not sure the size, but a very uncomfortable ride.  We quickly turned back and tied to the dock at the lighthouse to reconsider our options.

A few minutes later “No Worries” tied up with us.  As the captains planned where we would stop for the night, Starlet and I went to visit the lighthouse.  Here we met Emmaline and Bill.  Emmaline was the lighthouse keeper here for over 40 years.  Today they “man” the lighthouse 5 days per week to welcome visitors, allow them to tour the lighthouse and discuss the history of the area.  The view from the top of the lighthouse was spectacular.  Most interesting was the fact that Emmaline raised 6 children in this small lighthouse.  When they were of school age there was a “school boat” that traveled the area picking up children and taking them to school!

The decision was made to return to Hopewell Bay and explore the area on our dinghy and try again tomorrow to reach Byng.  Fingers crossed!

Day 62 onto Byng Inlet - or so we thought!
