We left St. Ignace at 4:15 a.m. with "Journey" and "Ramble on II". As we headed out of the marina we did encounter calm waters, although very dark! The view of the Mackinac City Bridge was quite a site all lit up. It was very slow moving this morning as none of us have travelled in the dark during our trips. It was a bit nerve wracking as many boaters do not have AIS (electronics that let us know where you are out there). For the first few hours it was calm, but the last 3-4 hours of our 8+ hour trip was a bit choppy. We made it to Charlevoix ~ 12:30-plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful weather. We settled into the marina and headed to the beach with Ali and Kathie a short walk away. Today was a warm summer-like day with highs in the mid 80's. The water is still clear, clean and cool. We spent the day relaxing, napping, and treated ourselves to dinner out. Looking forward to exploring Charlevoix over the next few days.
