We left early today as it will be ~ an 8 hour ride to Frankfort.  This was one of our coldest mornings yet, 46 degrees! Although a long day, it is expected to be calm waters and sunshine.  We traveled today with Keith and Ali in the hopes of meeting up with Kathie and Dave at Jacobson's marina in Frankfort.  We will miss Charlevoix.  Definitely on our list of favorite stops along this journey.

About two hours into the trip the alarms were going off! We have heard this alarm once before, but unable to find a problem.  After reading through the books, we discovered that to find an alarm code you must press specific buttons for it to register. Sounds like an ineffective way of logging engine problems.  Luckily we have a mechanic we have worked with who is responsive to our phone calls.  After explaining the issue and reviewing what our gauges were reading at the time of the alarm he told us no worries and try to remember to register it in the computer if it shoud happen again.  Hopefully it is something that can be fixed while floating in the middle of the lake.  Yet another reason to only travel on calm days.

It must’ve been a smooth ride because I slept most of the way to Frankfurt!  It really made the 8 hour trip fly by🤪.  I woke up, just as we were getting ready to enter the channel to the marina. Again, very smooth ride.  The sandy coast line of the lake here is reminiscent of Cape Cod and is known for its vast sand dunes.  Looking forward to meeting up with Kathy and Dave and our promised chicken curry dinner.

Jacobson Marina is a bit pricey at $80 per night, but it does have a heated pool that I am looking forward to tomorrow.  Our hopes of warmer weather seems hopeless at this time.  Wishing for sunny skies and calm waters has replaced my desire for a beach day.

Our trip today.
