Following a lazy start to the day we had an extended planning session with Journey and Ramble on II. It’s quite a chore with a few of us charting the course, a few of us checking the weather, while some are calling marinas checking on availability. After a few hours we managed to secure a slip for all three boats at the next two stops down Lake Michigan at Muskegon, and Holland.

Following our planning session we took the short stroll to the Maritime Museum. This museum had a fine collection of the history of Lake Michigan. Definitely worth the time for a visit, having several hands-on exhibit’s, including a ship simulator. Heading out in the bay tomorrow fishing with Dave. I can’t wait! Really miss catching.

After a short walk through town and a stop at a few of the local breweries, we headed to a local diner for dinner.  Near the marina here in Ludington, there are a few breweries, several shops and only one convenience store within walking distance.  Below is an example of the several murals one will see along Main Street. Headed to bed early as I have a 5 a.m. start tomorrow for salmon fishing.

No trip today again for us.  So nice to take some time to sit, relax and enjoy the area.
