Kingston was a fun town with lots to do and see so we decided to stay for a few days before heading onto Trenton. The town is rich in history, having some beautiful architecture, and one of the first large towns that we have seen thus far. In the pictures below you can see how they uniquely incorporated the old with the new.
We decided to purchase a 2-day trolley ticket which included a 3 hour boat tour of the 1000 islands. The weather was beautiful with several of the islands having only 1-2 houses on them. The channels here are narrow, being 50+ feet deep quickly dropping to a few feet with large shoals everywhere. Ended the day taking a trolley ride around town to scope out the sites we will want to visit tomorrow.
Day 31- We visited a few of the museums in Kingston, the farmers market, and did some food shopping as this will be the last large town we will encounter for quite some time. One of our visits was to the penitentiary museum. Although we chose the shortest tour (45 minutes) it seemed like a lifetime! Tomorrow, weather permitting, we are on to Prinyer's Cove only 3 hours boat ride from here. We are planning to move onto Trenton on Saturday hoping to stay a few days before heading to the Trent Severn Waterway.
