Days 50-54 Fort Davis State Park

The weather finally turned for the better and we were on the road again heading to Fort Davis State Park for hiking and stargazing. On our way to Fort Davis we decided it was time for a stop to stock up on groceries. I was quite surprised to see empty shelves throughout the store. No chicken, limited fruits and vegetables but thankfully plenty of coffee! We also had an overnight in Sonora, basically a parking lot although it had full hookups.

While at Fort Davis we completed some short hikes, visited Alpine and Marfa TX, had some amazing barbecue, and visited the University of Texas McDonald Observatory for their "Star Party". It was incredible looking through all of the telescopes they had set up although it was a bit cold by Texas standards.

Two things we will remember about this area- quirky and vast.
