Days 75-81 Sedona area
Sedona Devil's Bridge Hike

The weather finally changed for the better and we started our way north to Sedona. We stayed just outside of Sedona in Cottonwood. Although it was early in the season we found many of the trailheads crowded and shuttles only ran Thursday-Sunday. We did manage to get in a hike to Devil's Bridge, although we stopped our hike a bit short of the bridge as the final path was narrow and the trails were jam packed.

The following day we decided to take a tour with Pink Jeep Tours. This was an excellent tour that took us to the broken arrow trail. It was a wild ride through parts of the park we would have never reached by hiking. At one point our jeep was at a 45 degree angle which gave me the feeling that we would soon be making use of the roll bars!! During the tour our guide confirmed what I had suspected, several commercials have been shot here. You know the commercial showing a truck on top of the mountain that seems it was placed there by a helicopter, yes?

We made another attempt to visit some of the more popular trailheads and failing to find parking we decided on some less traveled monuments in the area. We ended up at Montezuma's Castle and Well. Two short strolls checking out the history in the area. It is difficult to see from the pictures here, but several different native American tribes lived in these pueblo dwellings over the years. The next few days we continued to take some short hikes such as the Tuzigoot Trail and yes a few visits to the ER and clinic to follow up on my healing hand.

Our trip on day 75.
