Days 42-49 Padre Islands-Corpus Christi

Moving south on the east coast of Texas we decided to stay at Mustang Island State Park. Initially we intended to stay for only a few days and camp on the beach. Plans changed when we watched the enormous storm that swept through the country. One day we were warm and enjoying a sunny day on the beach in the mid 70’s, the next we were experiencing lows in the mid 20’s and this is south Texas🥶! We decided to delay our trip heading northwest as they were enjoying an ice storm not seen in years.

We took some time to travel to South Padre Island, the botanical gardens in Corpus Christi and beaching it until the cold blast arrived. We also went on a birdwatching adventure and finally caught sight of the elusive roseate spoonbills. I can finally take that off my bucket list. Thankfully the coldest day was spent indoors watching the PATRIOTS MAKE IT TO THE SUPER BOWL while on a video call with friends. Go Pats!
