On the road again!
After a long summer of home projects we began planning our next trip. This year we have decided our goal will be Sedona, AZ. Neither one of us have been to Arizona so it should be quite the adventure! We are hoping to spend some time on the way exploring the east coast of Texas, Bryce Canyon , and new Mexico.
We began our trek south to visit with friends and family in Florida for the Christmas holiday. The trip down began a bit later than we would like as the weather was quite cold with lows in the 20's. Our first stop was Saucony Creek in Kutztown, PA. We spent a quick overnight here and took a slight detour to Middletown, VA to meet up with Allie and Keith, friends we met while completing the Great Loop. It was nice to spend the day catching up with each other and listening to their plans to begin traveling by camper in the near future. We stayed at another Harvest Host at the Wayside Inn, built in 1797. As the story goes this Inn has a few resident ghosts evidenced by what we are told is the smell of cigar smoke in the old "men's lounge". This is in the heart of Shenandoah Valley and the Blue Ridge Mountains. Next year it would be nice to leave earlier and take some time exploring/hiking here. At this point it was simply too cold to take time to check out the area.
