After much debate and consideration we decided to go to Tel Aviv to visit Adam and Gal before our joint family trip to Santorini. Today was a long, successful day of travel (~20+ hours).

We left home early morning for the bus ride to Logan airport and boarded our 9+ hour flight to Athens. We arrived at Athens airport and after a confusing trek through the airport found ourselves approved to enter Israel and at our gate waiting for the short flight to Ben Gurion airport in Tel Aviv.

Adam was there in Tel Aviv at to greet us and bring us to his home in the beach area of Tel Aviv. After our “safety“ meeting and downloading the Home Front app we were off for a walk on the beach and some exploration of the neighborhood.

After resting for a bit Gal returned from work and we headed out for dinner at a street-side cafe for Sabich, a pita filled with cooked eggplant, egg and a variety of vegetables. We ended our evening out with ice cream at Adam & Gal’s favorite shop.

The day would not have been complete without meeting the neighbors in the stairwell around 3 a.m. as the sirens blared letting us know it was time to shelter. An exciting end to our long first day here.

Travel Day on our way to Israel!
